Competition Does Not Exist

Saying silly things like

"im one of the best"

or

"illest"

In my book, is played out at this point in hip hop culture.

The Ego is a Rappers worst enemy. MC's don't have to worry about the Ego, because an MC isn't necessarily a story teller, an MC is more of a crowd controller which is why they are considered as the Master of "Ceremony".

Ego's are always a big reason why there is so much "beef" between rappers. Usually sensitive people, or people that tend to over-analyze everything take offense to anything that disrupts they're self-image. For example :

If I randomly said in a song, (where its obvious im talking about someone, not a group) "this rapper swag all wrong, his jersey dont match his tennis shoes" or some random shit like that...ONLY SOMEONE WHO IS SELF-CONSCIOUS ABOUT THEIR JERSEY NOT MATCHING THEIR TENNIS SHOES IS GOING TO TAKE OFFENSE TO IT.

Which in a nutshell...for people that are too numb-minded to comprehend metaphors...."rappers" should look in the mirror and ask themselves whats wrong with themselves before they state their opinion on anyone else OR take offense to Anything Anyone says...

And once you "find" yourself...you officially become a dangerous MC...you now have the ability to break down ANYONE with the confidence of knowing who you are as an artist. And that is something very few can accomplish...

If your a rapper (upcoming) and you have been doing hip hop for under 5 years, you might be tempted to identify with the "underground" illusion. But as easy as it is to point the finger at others and judge, what you might not be realizing is your judgment on other rappers is usually based on your own insecurities unless you have solid reason to diss them.

I would never dedicate a whole entire verse trying to "prove" my "theory" on why any other artist does not deserve the respect or money they acquired through music.

Flo-Rida is actually an MC most times, he is "controlling" the crowd (mostly females) during the ceremony to dance, drop it to the floor, etc....

THAT IS WHAT AN MC IS! Regardless if you disagree or not, the word "Rap" means numerous things. So don't get it twisted with all that "respect" shit...just trying to drop some jewels for anyone willing to pick them up. I wouldn't dedicate my time to writing a blog/bulletin if it wasn't intended to share useful information.

So to close this out, the reason why I don't believe "competition exists" is because, nobody is better than anyone else at doing what they do. Simple.

Some artists are just better at what THEY do. For example...2pac might not have the lyrical infrastructure that Rakim has, but nobody is better at 2pac's style than 2pac.

So only when you find your own identity will you truly continue to progress as a lyricist or storyteller or whatever you wanna call yourself.

Until then, please....don't fake the funk!

God Bless. Peace..........

Side Note : This is all based on my opinion of course, which may have flaw. Im not perfect, I do not try to be, I understand what "contradiction" is and am aware of the backlash people get for it. I never try to contradict myself...I too analyze alot in life, but my intention is usually my driving force...so before you (the reader) create your own judgment on this blog or any of my previous ones, please keep in mind what the intention of words are. Not everything in life has only "face" value.

Long Way Coming

Positive thinking can only take you so far. Its important to "try" to reflect the positive in everyone (I believe), however always be aware that not everyone is on a "righteous path".

If you struggle with personal demons, (and I believe we all do at one point or another in our life), my experience has taught me to stop fighting the demons and learn to just let them go. It feels alot better to perceive the world through positive eyes, because even if you cant change the world, atleast your experiene in it while you exist will be alot smoother if you learn how to keep cool.

It has been a long way coming, alot of doubt, met alot of people, some loved creating, some hated destruction. And most of them were on the same train ive been trying to get off of for years now. So with that said, alienating the right people in life will do you more justice in the future anyway, and holding on the people that you learn from is always important, because just as they bless you with knowledge you seek, you remind them of the place they might have once been before acquiring this knowledge, and that in return will humble the wise minds.

The road is long and bumpy, but if you can take the damage and survive...consider yourself the winner. Life has always been beautiful, I guess it just takes others a little longer to get it.
